Thursdays find me in the morning at Oasis Café, where I often have opportunity to pray with people in need. One of my favorite things to do is to prayer with and for people. Thursday afternoon was our “Oasis Healing Room”. We have a great team of prayer warriors and they took the time to pray for me. It is very encouraging to be surrounded with people of faith who pray with faith and power. Our trust is in the name of the Lord.  The presence of the Lord is awesome.  I am praying that all cancer will be eradicated from my body by surgery or by His divine healing. Isaiah 53:5 “He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him and by His wounds we are healed.” Read More

This morning I read Revelation 22 which completes my 67th reading of the whole Bible. This chapter is a reminder to us that Jesus is coming soon and of the hope that is ours of a forever future. I love the word of God. “Great peace have those who love your law, nothing shall make them stumble.” Psalm 119:165  “I rejoice in your promise like one who finds great spoil (treasure).” Psalm 119:162  I want to encourage you to read the word of God. As you read it, you may start off in the shredded wheat stage (dry but nourishing) and then go to the cod liver oil stage (you take it because it is good for you) and then it leads to the peaches and cream stage (delightfully refreshing). The more you read it the better it is.  God speaks to me  through his word, through my wife (DL, P, A and Wonderful (W) W) and through his people. I especially appreciate the scriptures that God gives me to remind me of his presence, peace and power.Read More

Carol (my Dearly Loved (DL), Precious (P) and Awesome (A) Wife(W)) has been praying that we would “see the glory of God in the land of the living.” While we were waiting for the doctor at her office we looked up all the references in the Bible on Carol’s phone that spoke of the land of the living and we decided that we wanted to see the glory and the power and the healing of the Lord in the land of the living. We know that ultimately heaven is the great healer but our desire is to see God’s healing power here and now.  As I was thinking about that I thought of John 10:10b “I have come that they may have life, and have to have it to the full.” God has given us the gift of life and we can choose on which side of the comma we live. Either just life or a full life. I choose a full and abundant life. So many people hear the “C” word and give up. I choose life, abundant life … to see the glory of God in the land of the living.Read More

When you are told you have cancer your mind goes in all different directions. The dreaded “C” word brings up confusion, doubt, anxieties, distress and concern for an unknown future.  On December 5th I was reading “Jesus Calling” and the scripture was from Genesis 28.   Jacob was running away from his brother and he ended up in a certain place where he went to sleep on a stone pillow in a land that seemed desolate, a place of anxiety, confusion, darkness, chaos and an uncertain future. He dreamt about the stairway that reaches to heaven and angels ascending and descending and God speaking. When he woke up he said, “Surely, the Lord is in this place and I was not aware of it.” I would like to say that in my journey the Lord is with me, even if I am not aware of it. He is always there. He is Immanuel – God with us. So even going through all the lows of the “C” word it is so good to know God is there.Read More

Friday December 2, 2016 After my FIT test for blood in the stool, colonoscopy, and CT scan I was informed that I had cancer in my large intestine. Monday December 5, 2016 I was told that I am scheduled for surgery on Thursday Dec 15th at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. I am on a very interesting spiritual journey and I am so grateful for the support of my wife (my dearly loved and precious wife), family, the pastors, and Life Group. The presence and peace of God has been incredible. One of the scriptures God has given to me is from Psalm 73 where the psalmist is feeling sorry for himself and is having difficulty understanding why the wicked prosper and he is struggling. “Yet I am always with you; you hold me with your right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterwards you will take me into glory.” (Psalm 73:23-24) The fact is God is always with us and takes us by the hand, He is our guide and ultimately He will take us to Heaven. That is our hope and our confidence. We do not need to be afraid or anxious but rather to trust our God. He is always there.  Pastor Ken RosetRead More
