After my FIT test for blood in the stool, colonoscopy, and CT scan I was informed that I had cancer in my large intestine.
Monday December 5, 2016
I was told that I am scheduled for surgery on Thursday Dec 15th at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. I am on a very interesting spiritual journey and I am so grateful for the support of my wife (my dearly loved and precious wife), family, the pastors, and Life Group. The presence and peace of God has been incredible. One of the scriptures God has given to me is from Psalm 73 where the psalmist is feeling sorry for himself and is having difficulty understanding why the wicked prosper and he is struggling.
“Yet I am always with you; you hold me with your right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterwards you will take me into glory.” (Psalm 73:23-24)
The fact is God is always with us and takes us by the hand, He is our guide and ultimately He will take us to Heaven. That is our hope and our confidence. We do not need to be afraid or anxious but rather to trust our God. He is always there.
Pastor Ken Roset
I am praying for you Pastor Ken.
Thanks Ken for sharing this. Sorry to hear that your results were cancer, but you’re right that we have nothing to fear. I always hold on to what dad said to mom that he would have good news whatever way he woke up. Whether it was to us his earthly family or Heaven with Jesus. That has given me such peace! I can’t imagine what people do that don’t believe in Christ. I know what you’re family is going through right now because of course they want you to live here longer. I too want that for your family! Even though I know dad is in Heaven, I daily miss him. Praying for you and your family at this time. I will especially remember you on December 15th. May God’s peace be with you.
Hi Ken……praying for you at this trying time! God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in time of need!
Much love to both you and Carol! ❤️

Our Church is praying for you Ken. You have been such a personal inspiration, God bless and keep you through this journey.
Almost unbelievable news!! Dear pastor Ken, and you too Carol I am saddened to hear about your spiritual journey! But I know that your faith is strong waiting on The Lords guidance. I love you both and do support you thoughtfully and prayerfully. Pastor Ken did make the remark that you, Carol had enough to do just looking after Ken! I thought he was just joking around, but I see now you weren’t! Respectfully yours.
Pastor Ken, sorry to hear of the diagnoses you received. God is good and we will be praying for you. I just wanted to thank you for your many visits my father-in-law John Ziegenhagel. He was always happy when you stopped in and enjoyed the visits. You are a very kind gentle man and have a deep care for people and it shows.
Take care
David and Elaine

I was scrolling thru Facebook and all of a sudden your picture showed up. Both of your beautiful smiles and loving eyes made my heart warm and made me smile. As I read your blog my heart sank. But you are so right that our loving GOD is always with us, never leaves or forsakes us and that when we are weak HE is strong and we can do all things thru CHRIST who strethgns us.. may the mighty power of HIS Holy Spirit surround you and fill you with HIS healing power and HIS unsurpasing peace. You are a mighty man of GOD and you have been given every spiritual blessing in heavenly places. I pray HE would breath HIS restoration power all over you and thru you at this time. I will continue to lift you up in prayer and send my love to you and your beautiful wife. I thank you for increasing my faith and for your prayers over the years at First, and it would be an honour for me to pray for you. Stay strong and be blessed..❤️???
So sorry to hear the sad news. The Selah Singers sang a song not long ago It is called we are never alone. We are never alone God is with us ever and ever we are never alone never alone. God is with you Pastor Ken and all your family. I sing this song many times when I feel very alone and it heals my soul. My prayers are with you my Dad had the same surgery so I know the anxiety. Lots of Love
